The "Little Miss Bab-O Surprise Party"
Broadcasts from 1935, show off the talents of
12 Year Old MARY SMALL. Billed as "The Little
Girl With The Great Big Voice", she certainly
lives up to her reputation on this CD. Backed
by BERTRAM HIRSCH and His Orchestra, this
incredible little girl steals the show every time
she sings. And having someone like Bunny
Berigan and his trumpet popping up on
occasion, makes this CD a must for your
collection.
Miss Mary Small is still an active performer
and vocal coach in New York City. And she is
still Amazing! Her career spans 3/4 of a
Century, and her voice is still in top form. The
Bab-O soap company would offer to send a
copy of her birth certificate to those who
couldn't believe that she was 12 Years Old. On
these Broadcasts she sings "Whose Honey are
You?", "The Music Box", "Old Tobacco Road",
"St. Louis Blues", "An Earful Of Music", "For All
We Know", "I Love The Rhythm Of The
Raindrops", "March Winds And April Showers",
"Rock-A-Bye Your Baby To A Dixie Melody",
"When Love Knocks At Your Heart", "Winter
Wonderland" and several others.
These transcription disks came from the
estate of Bertrand Hirsch, and were pressed
just for him.
When ordering this CD, be sure to mention
